Episode 216 - Rooms of the Soul

Raised close to the land, Benig Mauger is an internationally known Jungian psychotherapist, teacher, poet and workshop leader. She has authored a number of critically acclaimed books including Songs from the Womb, which sheds much needed light on the "loss of soul" encountered by many people due to our modern medicalized way of birth. In Benig’s latest book, The Soul & the Sea, she brings psychology and spirituality together and presents a range of rooms of the psyche where we grow and heal. Written from her home by the sea in Connemara, Ireland during the first nine months of the Covid lockdown, she draws from her own life experiences as a Jungian therapist and spiritual teacher to illustrate how connection to nature and the spiritual world can heal emotional wounds. Episode 215 - Controlling Hierarchies & the Sovereign Spirit

“Hierarchical control systems are based in the idea that everyone is inherently flawed and incapable of experiencing their truth and their reality on their own, so therefore they need to be spoon fed.” - Michael Koyoti
This is Part 2 of an extended conversation with Michael Koyoti, author of Isness - Science, Consciousness, Spirit. In this episode we learn how pervasive controlling hierarchies are in our culture (religion, science, academia, politics, etc.) and how they interfere with the principles of Isness, our natural state. These hierarchies are designed to keep a handful of people in charge, ruling through fear and trauma while promising some elusive future that never happens. They perpetuate through our obedience to them. Humanity seems to have been genetically ingrained and culturally infused with this desire to be controlled and told what to believe. By so doing, we abandon our true divine nature! Here are some of the many things we talk about:

Episode 213 - Sabbatical Reflections

In this episode, I share my reflections on my Akashic Records reading from Episode 212 - The Akashic Records Speak, where the guides knew I was about to go on a vacation. They told me to call it a sabbatical and not work, but soul search and notice what feels good to me and what doesn’t. They said taht open honesty with myself would open the door to opportunities and that there would be spaces in time in the coming days to observe, "How am I reacting? How am I in story?" I was also told to take a day of reflection when I returned. I did all that and recorded my reflective thoughts in this podcast. I may have more reflecting to do! That door never closes. But made this recording because I thought it might serve as at least one example of how we can observe ourselves and allow our reflections to inform our paths going forward.

Episode 211 - Exhale: Hope, Healing and Life in Transplant

“My religion was ambition and achievement. It took a long time for me to realize I wasn’t the one saving their lives. I was a small part of that. I was the hand of a greater being.” – Dr. David Weill
For 20 years, Dr. David Weill kept with him a list of names of people who were in dire need of lung transplants. As the Director of the Center for Advanced Lung Disease and Lung and Heart-Lung Transplant Program at Stanford University Medical Center, he led a team of 55-60 people and was in charge of the care plan for transplant patients, assessing their psychological chances for survival and matching them with organs as they became available. Life and death seemed to be in his hands and losing a patient seemed to him like a personal failure. In this episode Dr. Weill tells the story of how he rode the emotional rollercoaster and evolved from arrogance to authenticity as he loosened his hold on control and awakened to the presence of higher power working through him. Born into a successful show business family (son of late-night TV and radio pioneer Larry Finley), Guy Finley had a successful early career that included composing award-winning music for popular recording artists such as Diana Ross, The Jackson 5, Billy Preston and the Four Seasons.
