Bio - Rev. Shad Groverland was born and raised in Unity by his parents Rev. Jack and Norma Groverland. His passion for music production was ignited while serving in his parents’ church, which led him to a 25-year career in sound production & management in Los Angeles and Las Vegas. He was then called into ministry and attended the Unity Urban Ministerial School, receiving his ordination in 2016. He served at Unity of Las Vegas for five years before returning home to Unity of Boulder in Colorado, where he co-ministered with his sister and father. He was hired at Unity Worldwide Ministries as President/CEO in October 2020. Along with his wife, Erinna, he created the Power of Focused Ministry workshop to support and equip Unity ministries and leaders to thrive and grow. In 2 years, they led 40 workshops nationwide, with attendance from over 1000 Unity leaders representing over 300 Unity ministries. During their travels, they discovered a desire in Unity congregants to revive the Fillmore teachings, and consequently received a calling to launch a new kind of church, based in the Practical Christianity envisioned by the Fillmores.

Living with Cancer with Brian Holley - EP 269

Bio - Born in England at the beginning of WWII as bombs began dropping on London, Brian Holley eventually discovered that he had been carrying whirlpools of trauma, the source of lifelong underlying anxiety. Through acupuncture and kinesiology, he was able to enter more fully into the peace, love and joy which he had  pursued since childhood. In his twenties he became a fervent fundamentalist evangelical Christian. When he  heard an interview with Joseph Campbell, his view of the Bible and religion changed, and he began studying eastern religion and also philosophy. Eventually he found Quakerism and became acquainted with an eclectic gathering of Buddhists, Sufis, Christians, and a Muslim. Feeling the need to release himself from the confines of Quakerism, he now doesn't  wear any labels, and calls himself a 'spiritual tramp and religious has-been'. Brian has been living with cancer for 15 years and is the author of What My Doctors Didn't Tell Me About Cancer.
